Easter: Which delivery services are still running and when?

The pandemic has caused disruption for most celebrations over the past couple of years, and prevented families from being together. Yet, with the UK removing most protective measures, Easter this year looks poised to be a more traditional celebration.

All over the world, people mark the occasion by sending cards and chocolates to friends and family ahead of the weekend. However, as it is a bank holiday in the UK, many postal services will not be operating.

Will there be post over the weekend?

Yes, as some services still deliver during the Easter period, depending on who they are and what day it is. For instance, Amazon will be operating over the whole weekend, including Easter Sunday.

DHL will also be collecting and delivering parcels, but only on certain dates this weekend. Deliveries will be happening Thursday 14th, Saturday 16th and Tuesday 19th. As for collections, these will only be possible on Thursday and Tuesday.

As for Royal Mail, the postal service delivers and collects mail on most days except public or bank holidays. This Easter the Royal Mail will not be allowing collections, or delivering mail in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on Good Friday, April 15, and Easter Monday, April 18.

In Scotland collections and deliveries will continue as usual on Good Friday while there will be no collections or deliveries on Easter Monday.

DPD has also said it will not be operating during the holidays. They will be closed Friday 15, Sunday 17, and Monday 18.

Parcelforce, FedEx, Yodel, and Evri -formally known as Hermes – are other courier services that do not deliver or offer collections on bank holidays.
