eBay expands Gmarket in Asia

SAN FRANCISCO – EBAY Inc said on Thursday that its Korean Gmarket e-commerce unit plans to expand in Japan, Singapore and elsewhere in Asia through a joint venture with Gmarket’s founder. Gmarket’s Young Bae Ku will become the venture’s chief executive, eBay said in a statement.
