Sellers are being asked to review their current listings
eBay has shared upcoming changes to its postage rates and delivery options, with new features and pricing set to take effect from May 20.
These updates are part of the platform’s ongoing effort to simplify the selling process for private sellers and respond to user feedback.
At the heart of these changes is the expansion of the ‘Simple Delivery’ option, which now includes a new parcel size and revised postage rates.
According to eBay, a new ‘0–2kg small’ parcel size will be introduced, offering a lower price point for eligible items that fit within the specified dimensions.
This update will reportedly allow sellers to reduce postage costs by selecting a more appropriate size category for their packages.
Sellers are being asked to review their current listings, especially those using the small or medium parcel categories, and make any necessary adjustments before May 20.
For example, a 1–2kg medium parcel can be switched to the new 0–2kg small parcel size, provided it meets the size requirements.
Changes can be made directly from the active listings or view item pages.
Until the new rates are implemented, eBay is offering a promotional pricing period that matches existing Royal Mail rates for 0–2kg parcels.
This limited-time offer ends at 11.59pm on May 19, after which the new postage rates will apply to all eligible ‘Simple Delivery’ items.
In addition, eBay is introducing a ‘collect from store’ delivery option in partnership with Evri.
Buyers will be able to choose to collect their items from an Evri parcel shop or locker, offering a convenient and cost-effective alternative to home delivery.
This new option is expected to help buyers save 15% or more on delivery costs.
eBay said: “We’ve been listening to your feedback whilst rolling out this change and are introducing new features you’ve requested.”
Sellers are advised to stay informed and update their listings accordingly to benefit from these changes and provide a more streamlined delivery experience to buyers.
