Several listings for the Adidas Originals Spezial Elland trainers have popped up on the marketplace website.
Prices are ranging from between £300 and £350 pounds.
According to the Adidas website listing – which is not currently available – the trainers will sell for £84.95.
The Adidas Spezial Elland trainers have been exclusively created in collaboration with HIP, which has a flagship store on Vicar Lane.
They launch exclusively via an online raffle which can be entered on the website.
Buyers who are successful in securing a raffle place can buy the trainers at HIP or online on Thursday, August 20.
The eBay listers have entered the raffle and posted screenshots of their confirmed raffle win, promising to post the trainers to the buyer “once they are in hand.”
One listing reads: “Confirmed raffle win from HIP (see photo with email confirmation). Will be sent Royal Mail 1st Class when they arrive.”
Another says: “Will not be able to ship till next Monday as the shoes are not in hand yet”
The ‘Adidas Originals Spezial Elland’ trainers have been created in the club’s trademark blue and yellow colours.
They are primarily a mustard yellow, with blue stripes and heel tab and a thick, dark grey sole.
A HIP spokesman said they designed the shoe to “celebrate the unique city of Leeds” by creating a “vintage inspired silhouette from Adidas with a rich colour palette referencing Leeds United’s famous Elland Road stadium.”
The ‘Made in France’ style branding on the tongue has been replaced with ‘Made for Hip’.
Another addition is the foil serial code inside the shoe, which is a nod to a key date in the club’s history.
To promote the new trainers, HIP connected with the local heroes here in Leeds – including NHS nurses, firefighters and local butchers from Kirkgate Market.
Boxer Josh Warrington, a huge Leeds fan, also took part in the photoshoot.
The trainers follow Leeds United’s promotion win back to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years.
The Elland Road club ensured a return to the top flight last month by lifting the Championship title under Marcelo Bielsa’s guidance following a 16-year exile in the Football League.
They also secured Champions status without even playing, after second-placed West Brom slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town.
Attention has turned swiftly to the upcoming campaign, which kicks off on September 12, amid a shortened summer break following the coronavirus pandemic.
Leeds have made a number of signings already as Illan Meslier’s loan move became permanent from Lorient along with Helder Costa from Wolves while Jack Harrison has once again joined the club from Manchester City.
United have bolstered their development ranks with headline signings Joe Geldhardt and Cody Drameh, but are still on the search for what chief executive Kinnear describes as “three or four key positions” in the first-team squad.
The Adidas Spezial Elland trainers launch exclusively at HIP on Thursday, August 20.
They can only be purchased through the online raffle or in the raffle inside the Leeds store.
