eBay UK Kills Grandfather Clause in User ID Policy (AuctionBytes)

eBay UK will force some longtime eBay members to change their User IDs because it is revoking a policy exemption. eBay’s policy on allowable User IDs, launched in the US in late 2001, bans IDs that represent an email or web address (URL). But existing users with such IDs were granted an exemption as part of a grandfather clause. eBay is now revoking that exemption in the UK.
