Eight men deny violence in barbers ‘turf war’

Eight men have denied violent disorder linked to an incident outside a barber shop.

A previous court hearing was told the case centred on a “barbers’ turf war” on Blackwood High Street, Caerphilly, last month.

It was heard violence flared up at around 14:45 GMT on 13 February due to an alleged disagreement about a new barber shop potentially opening in nearby Newbridge.

The eight defendants appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday and all pleaded not guilty to a charge of violent disorder.
