NEWARK — Although Licking County has only one sheriff, in a sense two men are seeking reelection to the post. Gerry Billy was the sheriff for 24 years, but he retired four years ago. The man he endorsed, current Sheriff Randy Thorp, won the office. Both have “re-elect” on their campaign signs.
