EMILY PRESCOTT: Lady Amelia Windsor proves she’s the coolest member of the Royal Family by moving to Dalston
Lady Amelia Windsor has moved a long way from her posh roots – all the way to Dalston in Hackney. Despite its relatively high crime rates, the East London enclave has become a byword for edgy, hip living – ideal for one of the coolest members of the Royal Family.
The Duke of Kent’s 26-year-old granddaughter – a regular on the London party scene – is often seen modelling ‘eco fashion’ or drinking kombucha, a fermented tea popular with millennials, so should be right at home amid the trendy cafes and vintage stores of Dalston.
My picture shows her at the premiere of the latest Fantastic Beasts movie, which she attended after Prince Philip’s memorial service last week.

David’s brewhaha
He’s not just a pretty face – but he’s ever so humble too, or so he claims. David Gandy has revealed how he breaks the ice with strangers, saying: ‘I always treat everyone with respect. The other day, two new employees came into the office, and the first thing I do always to make a level sort of playing field is say, “Who wants a cup of tea?” That’s my thing… I’ll make the tea.’
Gandy, 42, says on a D&G shoot an astonished young model told him ‘I can’t believe you made a cup of tea’, but confides: ‘That’s the way I’ve always sort of been.’ Impressive…

Students at Durham University had a shock when they spotted A-lister Tom Hardy at their graduation ceremony last week.
The star, 44, was at the city’s cathedral watching his wife Charlotte Riley, 40, receive an honorary degree for her work supporting families working in film and TV.
As another posh club opens, hoping to attract even more posh people to her beloved Cotswolds, author and resident Clover Stroud fears for her area’s character.
Mayfair club Fitzdares has launched a branch there, and Clover tells me: ‘You can buy a jar of expensive preserve in a darling little jar, but you’ll struggle to find a tin of baked beans.’
Hard times.
Courtney goes quiet
Courtney Love says she’s turning her back on social media because her calls for a music industry #MeToo movement are being ignored.
‘You’re not listening & I’m wasting my time. I love you all. But these platforms are just dumb,’ the singer posted yesterday.
Californian rocker Love, 57, who lives in London and was once married to Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain, complained that reports last year that she owed £1.83 million in tax got more attention than allegations of sex abuse in the music industry: ‘I think I’m done. No one is listening to the important s***.’
Will the industry now pay attention?
