Engineers called out to ‘drenched’ Stoke-on-Trent road

Engineers have been called out to dealing with flooding on a city road. A pool of water has formed on Bemersley Road between Ball Green and Bemersley Green.

However it’s not just that one section of flooding on the route, a longer stretch running south from the Tongue Lane is drenched. It comes after the city was hit by hours of heavy rainfall overnight with some parts of the county even under a yellow warning.

But from this morning and it’s been dry across North Staffordshire with sunshine. However a stretch of Bemersley Road has remained wet with one part flooded this evening.

In response a highways team from Stoke-on-Trent City Council is at the scene tonight. It’s a busy road which takes drivers from Ball Green to Knypersley and Norton. It has become even busier due to the ongoing closure at Greenway Bank by Knypersley Reservoir.

As reported by StokeonTrentLive, this evening and Saturday will be cool but dry with sunny spells. However Sunday is set to bring strong winds and heavy rain from around 7pm.
