EON issues message to millions of customers and gives them ‘massive benefit’

EON Next has issued a message to millions of customers as it allows them “greater control” over their bills. The energy provider will be hosting an in-person activation – ‘The Smaaaahrt Pay As You Go Event’ – aimed at educating and engaging PAYG customers on the benefits of Smart Pay As You Go.

The event takes place at The Arndale Shopping Centre in Manchester from 29th July to 3rd August. Smart Pay As You Go advantages include being able to use the in-home display, app, or website to monitor your energy usage and balance, top up using the app, online, or at local shops like PayPoint, Payzone, or the Post Office, and customise alerts and update communication preferences to stay informed about your energy status.

You can also activate emergency credit when running low, ensuring you stay connected with no disconnections on weekends, UK Bank Holidays, or between 4 pm and 10 am, Monday to Friday. E.ON Next offers extra credit and long-term repayment plans, along with guidance for accessing free independent advice.

Julian Lennertz, Chief Commercial Officer at E.ON Next, said: “E.ON Next’s Smart PAYG app let’s you track, top up and manage your prepay energy account wherever you are. Our PAYG service provides a practical solution by allowing users to prepay for their energy, helping them keep track of their spending and budget more effectively.

“It’s already a firm favourite among our growing numbers of customers, but we wanted to take it on the road to show people across the UK how much it could help them.” Julian added: “The innovation has already proved of massive benefit to customers – especially budget-conscious households who need to manage their finances closely – as it allows them to see exactly what they are spending in real-time.

“This interactive launch comes as millions of households across the UK are feeling financial strain and E.ON Next wants to help all our customers with transparent, accessible and convenient energy-monitoring options.”
