Essex MP provides update on postal service concerns

David Burton-Sampson, MP for Southend West and Leigh, had expressed his dissatisfaction with the recent postal service disruptions in his constituency.

He had a meeting with Royal Mail at the end of July, after which he requested an urgent visit to the local depot.

He visited the depot this week where he shared specific concerns and sought assurances for swift resolution.

After inspecting the entire depot, he now feels “relatively confident” that the situation is under control.

Mr Burton-Sampson said: “Over the past few weeks, I had become increasingly frustrated both personally and as your MP by the infrequent and delayed postal service.

“They have explained to me what they have done to ensure this situation does not occur again.

“However, if you continue to experience issues please do contact me.”
