Delivery six days a week ‘may not be possible’ for a short while
An Essex postcode is set to be impacted by a lack of delivery from Royal Mail this week. Royal Mail issues regular service updates for areas that may see less deliveries than are meant to occur.
Royal Mail aims to deliver to all addresses that they have mail for six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
In those cases, Royal Mail will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. They also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.
In today’s service update, Royal Mail has said that one Essex postcode may not receive post six days per week like usual. This postcode is SS8, located on Canvey Island.
Royal Mail says: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. We will regularly update customers on the offices most impacted here.”
