Euro 2022 Final LIVE: England vs Germany build-up

England captured the hearts and attention of the nation at Euro 2022, scoring some stunning goals along the way.

Three of the Lionesses’ star players – Beth Mead, Alessia Russo and Georgia Stanway – are certainly in the running for the tournament’s goal.

Other contenders are Delphine Cascarino, Guro Reiten and Danielle van de Donk.

Ukraine’s Kateryna Monzul will referee the European Championship 2022 final between England and Germany tonight at Wembley.

The 41-year-old became the first woman to take charge of an England men’s game for their World Cup qualifier against Andorra in October 2021.

She will be the first from her country to whistle a European Championship final for women, having already made history in 2016 as the first female official to oversee matches in the Ukrainian men’s Premier League.

Monzul has also taken the lead at three women’s World Cups, including the 2015 final when the United States defeated Japan 5-2, as well as men’s matches in the Europa League and Europa Conference League in addition to the Nations League.

More famous faces supporting the Lionesses today, such as Prince William and his daughter Princess Charlotte getting behind the England team.

The Lionesses’ run through Euro 2022 has sparked the nation’s imagination and many famous faces have congratulated them, including seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton.

England finally ended their recent victory drought against Germany earlier this year when Sarina Wiegman led the Lionesses to victory.

England won the Arnold Clark Cup after late goals from Bright and Fran Kirby secured victory at Molineux.

The Lionesses took the lead as record scorer White buried her 49th goal for England, before Germany came back before half-time via a free kick from Lina Magull.

Bright put the hosts back in the lead with six minutes to go when Lauren Hemp’s shot was blocked and Kirby sealed victory in stoppage time.
