However, fans have been reminded about the importance of having a valid TV Licence when accessing live content. Watching or recording live TV without a licence could land viewers in serious trouble with a four-figure penalty, reports Birmingham Live.
Back in November, TV Licensing clued in The Sun on the requirements: “A TV Licence is needed to watch live content on streaming services, watch or record a TV programme on any channel and when using BBC iPlayer,” said a spokesperson. They further pointed out that help and additional details can be found on the TV Licensing website or through their customer service team.
While the current TV Licence fee stands at £169.50, it’s key to note that this also applies to recording live television for later viewing, according to TV Licensing. On-demand content generally doesn’t require a licence, except for viewing via BBC iPlayer.
The warning comes after Hulk Hogan made his much anticipated comeback on last night’s Netflix debut of Monday Night Raw. With his last live WWE TV presence traced back to January 2023 during Raw is XXX alongside Jimmy Hart, and his pre-recorded appearance in January 2024 celebrating 40 years of Hulkamania, many wrestling fans were dying to see him return.
