They have been described as among the rarest coins to ever be put into circulation and there are now 10 of them in Hull and East Yorkshire.
Just 400 of the special edition Peter Rabbit 50p coins have released after being specially commissioned by the Royal Mint.
In recent weeks, people from around the UK have been putting their names forward to help with the special task of dropping the coins at locations in their area – and Hull Live can confirm the 10 places in our patch where they have been put into circulation.
‘The Great British Coin Hunt’ decided to carry out the PR stunt by putting the coins, which were supposed to be sold as part of a package, into general circulation.
Some of the everyday members of the public that have helped out with the distribution nationally have been filming themselves carrying out the drops.
Although Hull and East Yorkshire’s volunteer decided to stay anonymous due to her job, she has snapped a few pictures of the coins in some of the lucky locations, having used them in various places over the last 10 days.
Self-service checkouts, vending machines, amusement arcades and parking meters were all chosen, meaning there is a chance you could still get your hands on the goods.
Here is a full list of all the places where they were released:
