Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman’s body was discovered in Smethwick.
A scene remains in place after officers were called to an industrial estate off Woodburn Road this morning (Monday, August 11).
West Midlands Police said “nothing could be done” to revive the woman, who was confirmed dead at the scene.

Officers were dispatched to the scene just after 6.10am on Monday morning (August 11).
Who died?
So far, all police have said is that a woman’s body was found.
No further information has been released, such as her name or age.
What has West Midlands Police said?
A statement issued by the force earlier today read: “A murder investigation is underway after a woman was sadly discovered dead in Smethwick this morning.
“We were called to an industrial estate off Woodburn Road at just after 6.10am.
“Tragically, nothing could be done to revive the woman and she was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.
“We’re in the early stages of our investigation and a police scene remains in place.”
