Aston Manor Road Transport Museum, in Aldridge, is a charity ran entirely by volunteers and is reliant on donations.
The centre features a number of buses, commercial vehicles, private cars and transport memorabilia, all with a West Midlands connection.
There are also various vehicles being restored to roadworthy condition.
The latest donation is a 1/8 scale model Royal Mail stage coach from 1827.
Staff said it will help to show the development of passenger transport through the ages.
The real Royal Mail stage coach that is the subject of the model is on display in the Science Museum in London, and dates from 1815.
This donated model needs a little skilled restoration to get it back to its full glory and a dedicated display case will have to be built.
The model was built by Mr V A W Thorne and was exhibited at model engineering shows. The horses are by Beswick.
Following the Government’s announcement on October 31, Aldridge Transport Museum has closed from Tuesday, November 2 for at least four weeks when lockdown is scheduled to end.
Volunteers at the museum have urged visitors to keep checking their website and also Facebook page for updates.
