National coffee chain Coffee no.1 is moving into the premises and is in the process of renovating the inside of the former post office.
An opening date is set to be announced in due course. Coffee no.1 already has a store in the High Street, Sidmouth.
A spokesman for the coffee company told the Journal: “We are very happy to announce we are due to open in due course in 4-6 Chapel St. For all our store openings, more information will be released soon.”
The post office closed to customers in 2017 and has laid empty since. A post office desk was opened soon after in WHSmith.
The office above Coffee no.1 will remain as offices for the Royal Mail.

Coffee no.1 was founded in 2001 has stores in Wales, the Southwest, the South coast and parts of the Midlands.
