Fallen tree blocks riverside path during Storm Éowyn

A TREE has fallen across a riverside path in York during Storm Éowyn.

Live reporting from The Press covered the incident as it happened, which saw the tree fall just before 1.30pm today (January 24).

It has covered the path near Scarborough Bridge and the Royal Mail office, with loose branches continuing to fall from nearby trees.

The Ash Tree falls under City of York Council’s responsibility of 30,000 trees that they are responsible for.

We have contacted them for comment in relation to the clearance of this tree, we will publish their response once we get it.
