As reported by The Press, the tree fell just before 1.30pm yesterday (January 24) on a path close to Scarborough Bridge.
This impacted access to and from the nearby Royal Mail office, with loose branches providing to be a hazard as they continued fall from nearby trees

This is one of a number of trees that fell in York during yesterday’s storm with trees also grounded in Acomb, Heworth and Strensall.
The path was reopened at around 5pm yesterday after City of York Council were able to clear the path.
Ben Grabham, Head of Environmental Services at City of York Council, said: “We were made aware of a fallen tree near Scarborough Bridge earlier today. Our team has now cleared and reopened the path.
“The tree and branches were safely moved away from the pedestrian route and will be collected as soon as possible.
“We are continuing to respond to a number of fallen tree incidents due to the high winds. Please take care if travelling and remember to report any concerns at: www.york.gov.uk/ReportTrees.”
