Family’s tribute to much-loved Devon dad as stabbing victim named

Tributes have been paid to a “loved father and son” who was stabbed to death in Torquay at the weekend. A murder investigation was launched on Sunday, September 17 after Aaron Parrington was seriously assaulted.

Police were alerted by members of the public to Ellacombe Church Road at around 3.30pm. Officers were immediately deployed along with the air ambulance, DevonLive reports.

Despite the best efforts of everyone at the scene, Mr Parrington was declared deceased. Today, (Wednesday) Aaron’s family paid tribute to him.

They said: “He was a loved father and son, who will be greatly missed. Although we are grateful for the support, we would ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”

As part of police investigation, a scene guard was in place on Ellacombe Church Road and officers are continuing with their house-to-house enquiries

A warrant of further detention was granted by magistrates on Tuesday, September 19 in relation to two men, aged 18 and 19, who have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both suspects remain in police custody while enquiries continue.

Detectives have set up a Major Incident Public Portal online where information can be provided by members of the public. Anyone with information can also contact police via 101 quoting reference number 50230252005.
