Fans claim Radio 1’s Greg James and Nick Grimshaw are at Cornish donkey sanctuary

Radio presenters Greg James and Nick Grimshaw brought back Radio 1’s epic UK-wide Hide and Seek challenge yesterday.

The pair double crossed their colleagues on Tuesday’s Breakfast Show revealing they had secretly been planning their great escape across the country.

Radio 1’s Hide and Seek started last year where Greg and Nick were found in Liverpool after 22 hours 40 minutes in hiding. That is the current time to beat and we’re already around 20 hours into 2019’s game.

People have been looking to Cornwall as a possible hiding location after a series of clues emerged on air and on Twitter in the last hour.

The latest hint was donkey related, leading listeners to assume that Greg and Nick are at Cornwall’s The Flicka Foundation donkey sanctuary.

These are the earlier clues:

First, fans saw a plane carrying a mysterious coded banner. It ended with EM, F & TM, WTP and DK.

It was confirmed that F&TM means Florence and the Machine and WTP means Winnie The Pooh. Florence is playing at Boardmasters this summer and many people on twitter are suggesting that there is a Winnie The Pooh Boat in Newquay.

It’s also worth noting that wherever they are it’s near to a drive thru McDonald’s after Nick sneaked out this morning to complete their breakfast order in the back of a van.

Most importantly BBC Radio Cornwall were on the receiving end of a very suspicious postcard from Nick and Greg this morning.

Breakfast presenters James Churchfield and Julie Skentelbery say it arrived this morning via Royal Mail special delivery.

Current enquiries are also pointing the hosts of the seekers camp Clara Amfo and Matt Edmondson in the direction of a space theme.

Songs were previously played with ‘sun’ and ‘stars’ in the lyrics and with in being the 50th anniversary of the moon landing listeners are wondering if they are in Leicester Space Centre. But lets not forget we have our own link to space down here at Goonhilly…

We already know Greg is a big fan of Cornwall after his #PassThePasty challenge last year, which could be a potential clue… Greg shone a light on the county with his ingenious challenge which saw a traditional pasty make its way to Aberdeenshire from Padstow.

And there’s the donkey clue, one listener tweeted: “OMG… Could it be Falmouth in Cornwall… There’s The Flicka Foundation in Mabe near Falmouth which is a donkey sanctuary and there’s a McDonald’s around ten minutes away… Also there’s a harbour in Falmouth for the Winnie the Pooh boat.. #hideandseek.”
