FedEx CEO vows to leave Tennessee if inheritance tax not repealed

NASHVILLE — Economist Arthur Laffer, a leader in the private efforts to eliminate Tennessee's inheritance tax, told a state legislative committee Monday that FedEx president, chairman and CEO Fred Smith told him last week that "he's gettin' out of this state" if the bill repealing the tax doesn't pass the legislature.
