What the FedEx Cup has going for it is that there’s no controversy. When Tiger Woods won in a landslide last year, there was no way Phil Mickelson could argue he was really the champion. Sergio Garcia couldn’t make a case he shared the Cup with Woods. And when Vijay Singh won the Cup on Sunday, no one else could lay claim to it. That’s where the FedEx Cup’s endearing qualities end.
