Final agenda announced for ‘sell-out’ AFP fleet conference

The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) has released its final agenda for its first-ever annual conference, which has already reached its capacity of 250 delegates.

The event will centre on the topic of fleet electrification

Taking place at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon on 18 May, the event will centre on the topic of fleet electrification and features sessions on the EV charging infrastructure, delivering a smart EV highway charging solution, kerbside charging research, using data and telematics to monitor and optimise EVs, the trouble with vans, and salary sacrifice deployment.

The full agenda for the conference is:

EV charging infrastructure. Featuring Ashley Tate (Mina), Sara Sloman (Pay Thru), Duncan Webb (ISS), James Rooney (Centrica), Peter McDonald (Ohme) and Alex Potts (BP Pulse). Moderated by James Pestell.

Delivering a smart EV highway charging solution for your vehicles. Featuring Matt Terry (Appyway), Tom Rowlands (Allstar Business Solutions), Chris Jackson (WSP), Lorraine Lonergan (BP EV Hubs) and Matt Dale (Mitie). Moderated by Ric Baird.

Kerbside charging research – presenting data gathered by the AFP from the UK’s top 20 fleets. Featuring AFP chair Paul Hollick and Charlie Gilbert of Field Dynamics.

Using data and telematics to monitor and optimise EVs. Featuring Lee Jackson (Marston Holdings), Dave Fisher (Enerveo), Stewart Taylor (Police Scotland), Richard Parker (Webfleet), and Chris Woods (Trakm8). Moderated by Stewart Lightbody.

The trouble with vans. Featuring Colin Hutt (Clarion Housing), Matt Hammond (Altrad), Stuart Murphy (Royal Mail) and Steve Openshaw (Eric Wright). Moderated by Paul Kirby. Salary sacrifice deployment. Featuring Ali Argyll (Tusker), Tom Brennan (Mercedes-Benz Cars) and Ollie Boots (Octopus EV). Moderated by Jeff Whitcombe.

AFP chair Paul Hollick said: “We’re really pleased with the response to the conference. When it was first planned, we decided that we’d be happy with around 150 delegates, so to have 250 people registered and effectively sell out capacity is fantastic. We are now operating a waiting list.

“To us, this illustrates two points. One is that there is a huge appetite for information that drills down into the subject of fleet electrification for both cars and vans. The other is that the AFP has made a very real impact in the relatively short time since it was formed and is recognised as a major source of expertise by professionals operating in the industry.”

Hollick also thanked Mercedes-Benz Cars, Allstar Business Solutions and Mina for signing up as sponsors of the event.

“Corporate support plays a huge part in making an event such as this possible and we’d like to sincerely thank the three companies that have come on board in this capacity. Again, their involvement is a sign of the AFP’s credibility.”
