March 27, 2025 — On 22 April, the international wine guide Star Wine List will award Gold Stars to the best wine lists of venues across the world not covered by broader Star Wine List of the Year international tour 2024/’25. The expert jury has now decided the finalists – a total of 63 restaurants and wine bars across 16 countries, including the USA, Canada, Iceland, Mauritius, Serbia and South Africa.
“It’s so inspiring to see all the great work from around the world,” says Krister Bengtsson, Star Wine List’s Founder and Publisher. “Wine lovers today are spoiled for choice thanks to these sommeliers and restaurateurs – bravo!”
Star Wine List of the Year is a celebration of the great wine lists across the world and the teams behind them. In the International Open, prizes will be awarded in nine categories. Winners in each category will receive a Gold Star, with the runners up receiving a Silver Star. Since all categories in the International Open fall into our international grouping, all Gold Star winners automatically qualify for the Star Wine List of the Year International Final, which will be held in June 2025, once all regional competitions have been completed.
The jury, including top sommeliers Kathrine Larsen-Robert MS and Nina Jensen, has now finished deliberating and the finalists have been selected.
