First death in a week as cases rise by 267 overnight – The Scottish Sun

THE first Scottish coronavirus death has been recorded in a week – with another 267 cases overnight.

Nicola Sturgeon revealed the latest figures this afternoon after extending local lockdown measures in Glasgow and surrounding areas for another week yesterday.

The First Minister told the nation that a further 101 cases had emerged in the Greater Glasgow area as cases continued to spike.

It comes as police have been forced to break up 405 house parties.

Cops in Glasgow were forced to deal with hundreds of calls about banned bashes despite harsher restrictions being enforced in the city following a hike in virus cases.

The Scottish Sun went on patrol with officers as they broke up a boozy party with around 30 students celebrating the start of the new university year.

Here’s the latest from Scotland’s battle against the pandemic.
