The final preparations have been made ahead of the much-anticipated Lincoln Krazy Races soapbox derby. More than 30 soapboxes will navigate a series of thrilling twists and turns in front of thousands of sepctators lining the track.

Krazy Races Lincoln will be held on Sunday, September 15 and the event is free to attend. Teams are going to be racing down Flaxengate, past the Lincoln Museum, in a bid to record the quickest time.

The event sees a mixture of individual, charity and business teams design, build and then race their handcrafted soap box through chicanes, obstacles and more. It will feature a bustling event village, complete with local food vendors, family entertainment, and a giant event screen broadcasting all the race-day excitement.

Competitors will work their way through a knockout-style competition with only the fastest 10 cars making it to the final, where they will battle to take home the winner’s trophy. An old piano, the Flintmobile, The Only Fools and Horses car and a giant pink chicken to mention just a few gathered at the LNER Stadium as the final preparations took place for the event.

Danny Scoffin, Krazy Races head of brand and marketing, said: “We have had an incredible day at Lincoln City FC. As well as being home of Lincoln City FC the venue is also home to our headline charity Lincoln City Foundation who supported our Krazy team on the day.

“Our scrutineer events are critical because they allow us to meet all our teams and give them the information needed for race day. After seeing over 30 fantastic soapboxes, we can assure the people of Lincoln that Sunday, September 15 will be a day not to miss. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the amazing team at Lincoln City FC and Lincoln City Foundation for supporting us.”
