More than 98pc of Flagship Group’s cars are now either EVs or plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), compared to 57pc in November 2022 and 89pc 12 months ago.

Flagship’s 328-strong fleet includes 97 EVs, 187 PHEVs and 38 multi-hybrid cars, as well as five EV and two PHEV vans.

Cathy Wilson, Flagship’s payroll and fleet manager, said: “We’re still on track for our car fleet to achieve net zero by 2027, which will be three years ahead of the national goal of 2030.

“It’s a testament to the hard work and change embraced by the entire organisation as we push towards these net zero targets.”

The company is also supporting its staff during the EV transition through contributions of £850 towards the cost of at-home EV charging points, given to employees classed as essential users.

“We’ll continue to work with our drivers – particularly those who cannot charge at home – and their managers to find bespoke solutions that work both for the business and for each individual’s personal preferences,” Ms Wilson added.

“We’re really honoured to be included in the shortlist for this award.”

The Fleet News Awards will take place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on March 12.
