Food stamps for Starbucks? Outrage ensues

Food stamps are for boring, inexpensive things — like bread and milk and apples. The subsidized tickets certainly aren’t for buying expensive coffee beverages that come in cheerful holiday cups. That’s the indignant consensus reached by many following a story out of Salem, Oregon about how Starbucks stands in Safeway stores will accept food stamps at the register.
