Food stamps renamed (The Lewiston Sun Journal)

AUGUSTA (AP) – The program long known as food stamps has new names. In Maine, it’s now known as the Food Supplement Program. At the federal level, it’s been renamed the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. The changes took effect Oct. 1.
