The family of a 74-year-old man killed after being hit by a car said he is “sorely missed”.

Paul Adams died in hospital on Christmas Eve, three days after a collision at the junction of Whiteladies Road and Alma Road in Clifton, Bristol.

Police said enquiries into the crash, which involved a red Peugeot, were ongoing.

Mr Adam’s family said he had lived in the Westbury-on-Trym area his entire life and had worked at Rolls Royce and Royal Mail before his retirement.

Mr Adams has been married to his wife Juliet for nearly 17 years before his death

“He had been happily married to Juliet for nearly 17 years,” the statement from his family said.

“Much of his spare time was spent on charitable causes including Sacred Heart and St Antony’s churches, where he loved to sing, and the Mill Hill Missionaries.

“Paul will be sorely missed by his many friends, and especially by Juliet.”
