Former Youth Winter Olympic bobsledder Oliver Biddulph is among SJP’s newest advisers.
Former youth Olympic bobsledder Oliver Biddulph is among St James’s Place (SJP) latest cohort of young advisers, trained through its Solihull academy.
SJP today announced its latest graduates from its Blythe Valley Park academy in Shirley, which gives aspiring advisers and paraplanners in the West Midlands a chance to train for careers within the SJP partnership or their own or businesses.
Youth olympian Biddulph, 27, competed for Great Britain in the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
He is among 17 graduates from the Solihill academy, along with a British Army Officer and a Royal Mail postal worker.
Since it formed in 2015, 24% of individuals coming through the Solihull academy have started 27 new businesses in the area and several of the latest cohort plan to set up firms in the region.
St James’s Place academy director Jason Flood said: “We’re glad to play a part in the growth of the profession within the region, by enabling individuals to realise their career prospects by equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to start their careers or grow their own businesses. And more importantly, we’re pleased to be able to support people living in the West Midlands with their financial advice needs,” he said.
“Looking ahead, we want to continue to grow the Solihull Academy and attract people from different backgrounds to enter a thriving industry in financial advice and to help them pursue their own business ventures.”
The Solihull academy offers three different career programmes for those seeking to work in financial services.
