Four teenagers have appeared in court after police allegedly discovered two improvised guns and knives in a car. The weapons were seized following a police pursuit in Aston just before midnight on Wednesday (21 June).
Traffic and firearms officers, along with the help of the police helicopter and dog unit, helped to arrest the occupants of the car on Hanley Street, Aston. Two boys aged 17, a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old man have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a knife in a public place and possession of a firearms with intent to endanger life.
All four appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday (June 23) and were remanded into custody until their next court appearance. An 18-year-old man who was also arrested is receiving treatment at hospital for injuries not thought to be serious.
