Many swimmers, surfers, dippers, locals and holidaymakers were there.
We heard from Bob Seely that there is a four-year plan to eliminate 80 per cent of the sewage discharge around the Isle of Wight.
It’s good to know that action is being taken, but four years is a long time to wait.
If you’re a daily dipper or swimmer that’s almost 1,500 chances to get exposed to the bacteria and toxins being pumped into our sea putting people’s health and well-being at risk.
The target of 80 per cent also feels inadequate, sending the message that a bit of sewage is ok.
We all want clean water now and that’s what we pay our water rates for.
