THE MP for Frome has said she has heard “countless” complaints about Royal Mail since her election last year.
Anna Sabine, MP for Frome and East Somerset, said she has met with Royal Mail representatives in parliament and has been promised a meeting with their regional director.
In a statement, she said: “Since being elected, I’ve received countless letters and emails complaining about the poor service from Royal Mail in Frome and other areas.

“I started by writing to the local sorting office and to Royal Mail, and felt fobbed off by the answers. I then wrote to the Minister who told me Ofcom dealt with Royal Mail.
“And I’ve just had a reply from Ofcom which basically says they have no power to manage individual sorting offices.
“It seems to me, no one has the power to hold Royal Mail to account when their systems fail.”
The MP said she met with representatives from the company on Tuesday and told them she was “unimpressed” with their services.
She said she has been “promised” a meeting with Royal Mail’s regional director and added that she wants “straight answers”.
“I was very clear that I want straight answers,” she said of the meeting. “I don’t want local staff to be blamed for the way the system works or for talking to me about it.
“I’ll continue campaigning on this issue to ensure that all constituents receive the postal services they deserve. We still rely on the post for so many things; the cost of post is going up and up, and people should expect and receive a reliable service.”
