Full list of Royal Mail delivery disruption as delays possible before Christmas

Your presents and cards could be delayed this Christmas as Royal Mail warned of disruption.

The postal service is working to minimise delays but admits it might not be able to offer a full service in some parts of the UK.

It said the delays are caused by coronavirus with many workers either self-isolating or taking sick days.

The news comes after the BBC reported that absence levels at Royal Mail are almost double those seen in 2018.

A source said the internal situation is “horrific” as they claimed: “It’s much worse than a normal Christmas.”

Fortunately Royal Mail has updated its website with the latest delays so you can see if there’s any issues in your area.

The postal delivery service has updated its website

The postal service confirmed it is expecting disruption in the following places:

  1. Belfast West DO (BT10 – BT12 and BT17)
  2. Bredbury DO (SK6)
  3. Burnham On Crouch DO (CM0 8)
  4. Chelmsford DO (CM1 to CM3)
  5. East Dulwich (SE22)
  6. Finsbury Park DO (N4 and N15)
  7. Gerrards Cross DO (SL9)
  8. Harold Hill DO (RM3)
  9. Havant DO (PO9-10)
  10. Henfield DO (BN5 and BN44)
  11. Hornsey DO (N8)
  12. Longton DO (ST3 and ST11)
  13. Northwich DO (CW8 to CW9)
  14. Rayleigh DO (SS6)
  15. Shrewsbury DO (SY1 to SY5)
  16. South Croydon DO (CR2)
  17. St. Helens DO (WA9 to WA11)
  18. Sydenham DO (SE26)
  19. Upminster DO (RM14)
  20. Upton DO (CH30 and CH49)
  21. Warrington DO (WA1 to WA2 and WA4 to WA5)
  22. Willesden DO (NW10 and NW26)

It has 1,200 offices, so most of its operations remain unaffected by the disruption.

A notice on the Royal Mail website said: “Deliveries are operating as normal across most of the country.

“We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In those cases we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
