Game Of Thrones and Peaky Blinders stars’ new show being filmed in Cheshire

Ellesmere Port is to stand in for south-east London as the backdrop for an ITV series featuring Game of Thrones and Peaky Blinders stars. Gemma Whelan, better known as Yaya Greyjoy in Game of Thrones, who also featured prominently in The End of the F***ing World and smash-hit Killing Eve, stars in the show – ITV’s The Tower.

Filming is under way for the second series of the cop drama, which also features Emmett J. Scanlan, known for his role as Billy Grade, ex-footballer and Peaky Blinders ally in the period phenomenom. This is not the first time the drama has used Cheshire as its backdrop.

Last year, Whelan and Scanlan were spotted in Runcorn filming for series one of the ITV drama. Film crews descended on Runcorn Cemetery, which also stood in for London in the series.
