GENERAL MERCHANDISE NEWS
Games Workshop has announced that it expects its full year revenue to reach a minimum of £440 million compared to £387 million in the previous year.
For the 52 weeks ended 28 May 2023, the hobby miniatures company expects licensing income to total £25 million, which is down from the prior year’s £28 million.
Meanwhile pre-tax profit is expected to rise to not less than £170 million from a previous £157 million.
To recognise staff’s contribution to the results, Games Workshop made profit share payments totalling £11 million in the year, which was up from £10 million a year earlier. These were paid in cash on an equal basis to each member of staff.
Earlier this month, Royal Mail announced the launch of 10 special stamps to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Games Workshop’s internationally popular Warhammer game.
Helen Smallridge, global head of marketing at Games Workshop, said at the time: “From humble beginnings, Warhammer has grown into a British institution and a global success, with our fantasy miniatures collected by millions around the world. We hope this new stamp range will be a treat for fans, and for those who have yet to discover our rich and fantastical worlds.”
