news, latest-news,
Residents in Sebastopol have had to deal with a gas leak for the second time in a week on Friday afternoon. Emergency service workers were called to the incident on Wilsons Lane around 1pm after reports of a gas leak came in. Brigades from Sebastopol and Lucas as well as police attended the scene, which was brought under control and declared safe quickly. It is unclear what caused the leak. This comes seven days after a similar incident took place in Sebastopol near the Royal Mail Hotel, where a large hazardous gas leak resulted in warnings to residents in the area. That gas leak was caused by contractors working on an excavator at the site, digging around a water pipe, when they hit the gas line. Have you signed up to The Courier’s variety of news emails?
