This time Hindmarch turns her attention to the postal service, with a huge maze inspired by the patterns in M. C. Escher’s Metamorphosis III mural, which was installed in the Hague Post Office 50 years ago.
In the exhibition — which only last four days — you can listen to recordings of remarkable letters sent around the world across several centuries, and take part in calligraphy workshops. Also on display is a gallery of curiosities on loan from the Postal Museum.
Why the fascination with snail mail? It’s all to celebrate the launch of Hindmarch’s new Postbox Collection of accessories.
The Anya Hindmarch Postbox Maze is at Brewer Street Car Park, Soho, 13-16 September 2019. Tickets are £12.50 and need to be booked in advance.
