Girl who posted her dummies ‘to the fairy’ gets response from Royal Mail worker

A Royal Mail employee has replied to a child who posted her dummies to “the do do fairy”.

The child’s mother, Chelsea, shared a photograph of the letter sent to her daughter on the Family Lockdown Tips and Ideas Facebook group.

“Sooo last week the 7th of September my clever little princess posted her dummy’s to the ‘do do fairy’s!’” she wrote in the caption.

“I put our adress as thought if they had a problem they could send back! Well this morning the ‘dummy fairy’s’ ( Royal Mail) sent a letter to say thank you!

“To say my little princess hasn’t stopped smiling is an understatement! She won’t put the letter down! Soo to any mummy/daddy’s out there struggling with how to get rid of them! Here you go! Shout out to Royal Mail for making my baby’s day! [sic]”

Chelsea shared a photograph of the letter to her daughter, which read: “Thank you. You are so kind and courageous to give your dummy to the fairies. We are proud of you! And we promise to look after it.”

Additionally, Chelsea received a second letter from Les Haffenden, an employee of the Royal Mail.

“We got your parcel for the dummy fairy and where we can we try and reply to customers that have an address on the parcel,” it read.

“I have enclosed a thank you letter form the dummy fairies to show to your child to say thank you for sending the dummies to them. I hope this is ok?”

Chelsea’s post has proven very popular on Facebook, garnering more than 19,000 like and 1,400 comments, despite the fact that it was shared on a private group.

Many were touched by the gesture on behalf of the Royal Mail.

“Well done Royal Mail,” commented one person.

“So generous and thoughtful,” added another.
