Prestwick Airport (PIK)

Glasgow Prestwick Airport is a commercial airport located on the west coast of Scotland. This airline is one of the UK’s few Tier-One airports for security emergencies, operating 24/7.

It was first established in the 1920s and served as a WWII US Air Force base. Hosting notable aircrafts such as the Antonov An-225. It handled return ferry crews, freight, mail and casualty evacuation with over 37,000 aircrafts passing through by 1945.

In 2025, PIK increased its workforce by more than 150 and invested in e-commerce processing facilities such as Royal Mail and Evri operations based at Prestwick. This is significant due to lower emissions being emitted as the faster processing of cross-boarder parcels reduced the need for long-distance trucking across the UK.

This airport runs efficiently with a two hour turn around for wider-bodied freighter aircrafts, and their warehouse screening machines enable all types of cargo to be handled safely and efficiently.
