Graeme Downie hails work of Royal Mail staff during depot visit

Graeme Downie MP visited the city’s office on Woodmill Street to speak with workers pulling out all of the stops to ensure everything arrives in time for December 25.

During his visit, he met a wide range of Royal Mail employees, some at the start of their careers and others on the cusp of retirement.

The Dunfermline and Dollar man praised the efforts of all of the staff, while also noting that the building could do with a refurbishment.

Mr Downie said: “I’ve just been meeting the staff at Dunfermline sorting office at Royal Mail today.

“They’re doing an absolutely incredible job for everyone. They’re so busy at this time of year and in this building that’s probably not up to scratch.

“It was great to meet them – some staff have been there for 20 odd years, one guy who is retiring in the next few weeks and some new staff that are joining.

“[They’re] trying to make sure that everyone’s got their parcels in time for Christmas and helping Santa to make sure that all the kids have got their presents.

“Thanks to all the staff at Royal Mail for everything they do now and throughout the year.”
