GroceryAid launches 2024/25 Impact Report

In total, the charity said it spent more than £6.5m supporting colleagues in 2024/25.

As well as providing more than 139,000 incidents of colleague support (a 76% increase on the previous year), the £6.5m spend included helping 6,667 children go back to school in September 2024 with the right equipment and clothing, through the School Essentials Grant.

GroceryAid’s free and confidential Helpline saw a 3% increase in calls from colleagues looking for emotional and practical support, and qualified counsellors provided more than 5,300 in-the-moment counselling sessions to colleagues throughout the year.

It also saw a 60% increase in colleagues accessing legal advice, and over 1,900+ colleagues accessed online self-help and CBT guided sessions.
