Harry and Meghan are set to come face to face with William and Kate at Remembrance Sunday

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will come face-to-face with Prince William and Kate Middleton at a Remembrance Sunday service, the first time the couples have been seen together publicly since the Sussex’s bombshell ITV documentary.

Last year, the four royals joined the Queen, the prime minister and other members of the royal family at the Westminster Abbey event and plans are now underway to ensure this year’s event goes ‘smoothly’.

The couples have not been seen together in public since baby Archie’s Christening in July, where royal fans commented that William and Kate appeared ‘frosty’. 

News of a potential reunion comes after Harry and Meghan’s dramatic ITV programme, where the Duke of Sussex, 35, refused to dismiss reports of a rift with his brother, instead saying that they are on ‘different paths’ and have ‘good days and bad days’. 

They could meet at this year’s Remembrance Service, their first joint-public event since a bombshell documentary where Harry refused to deny claims of a rift between him and William

The revelations caused an outcry, with royal sources later saying that William, 37, was ‘worried’ about his brother with their father Prince Charles reportedly ‘furious’ at talks of a feud. 

At the Remembrance Sunday service on November 10, Prince Charles is expected to lay a wreath at the cenotaph on behalf of himself and the Queen.

The palace wants to ensure that the family ‘come together’ for the poignant event, in the wake of recent headlines.  

A source told the Sun: ‘Remembrance Day is an especially poignant event for all of the ­members of the royal family, but especially for Prince Harry who served in Afghanistan.

‘There is a general sense of hope that this day will put things in ­perspective and allow senior family members time to reflect on what the important things in life really are.’

The Queen is believed to be keen for William and Harry to present a united front and rise above any potential issues. 

However, the siblings could meet sooner if they both fly out to Japan for the Rugby World Cup final.

William is the patron for the Welsh Rugby Union, with Harry his English equivalent. 

In the bombshell documentary, Harry and Meghan admitted to struggling with the media attention, but faced criticism in some quarters for their controversial views on and the public scrutiny they faced. 

Meghan admitted feeling vulnerable and spoke of the difficulty in coping with intense tabloid interest, saying: ‘It’s not enough to just survive something, that’s not the point of life. You have got to thrive.’

Harry told of the pressure he felt trying to protect his family from unwanted media attention.

A royal source told the BBC William was concerned about his brother following the documentary screening and hoped Harry and Meghan were ‘all right’.

The source added there was a view that the couple were ‘in a fragile place’.

Harry and Meghan are set to fly to the US in November, along with Archie, so they can take a six-week break, spend time with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland and celebrate Thanksgiving.

It is unclear how the Remembrance Day service will fit into their schedule, with the palace refusing to confirm whether any of the so-called ‘Fab Four’ would be attending the event. 

Last year, Meghan stood away from the Queen and Kate during the service.
