Hickleys Mobility & Healthcare launches helpful free home delivery service for its customers • THIIS Magazine

Somerset-based Hickleys Mobility & Healthcare has decided to launch a free home delivery service for its customers during the challenging and uncertain times in the Coronavirus outbreak.

The mobility store provides a range of products including mobility scooters, specialist footwear, rise & recliners, commodes, wheelchairs, adjustable beds, bathlifts, daily living aids and hoists. Hickleys Mobility & Healthcare also provides a hire service for its wheelchairs, scooters, beds and hoists.

Starting today, the mobility retailer will be offering a free home delivery service for people within a 30-mile radius of the company’s Bridgwater or Taunton showrooms for any order value over £25. This new service is designed to support customers who have been told to self-isolate or practice social distancing.

The deliveries will be carried out by The Royal Mail, courier or a member of staff from Hickleys Mobility & Healthcare. Deliveries made by The Royal Mail or Courier will adhere to their individual procedures.

In a statement from the company’s manager Mark Mason, he says: “Please allow up to 5 working days to receive your order. All orders must be paid for prior to delivery so please give us a call at Taunton 01823 328555 or Bridgwater 01278 452510 where our fully trained members of staff will be happy to take your orders and payments.

“This offer unfortunately does not apply to online orders. Carriage charges will apply as displayed.”

For the new home delivery service, staff members will place the mobility items on the customer’s doorstep and after knocking on their door, they will retreat two metres. Then, the staff member will wait for the customer to answer the door to check they have received their goods.

However, if there is no response after five minutes, Hickleys Mobility & Healthcare will collect the goods, load them back into the vehicle and return them to the showroom. The company says it will be then be down to the purchaser to collect the items from the nearest showroom.

Mark added: “We reserve the right to remove this offer at any time.”

Hickleys Mobility & Healthcare has also assured that it will continue to try and assist its customers as much as possible during these difficult circumstances.
