Highstream Solutions was one of the first local businesses to throw its support behind the prestigious tournament, which brings world class women’s tennis to North Wales, when it was staged for the first time last year.
The 2026 ITF World Tennis Tour event, played on the indoor courts at Wrexham Tennis & Padel Centre, will take place in the city between October 18-25.
Rising Welsh star Mimi Xu was crowned champion of last year’s tournament, which attracted impressive crowds throughout a hugely successful week.
Alongside the tennis action, a busy week featured a host of popular hospitality events, including a sold-out networking lunch for the local business community at Wrexham’s Ramada Hotel.
Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, the winner of 11 Paralympic gold medals, and Joanna Rowsell, twice an Olympic cycling goal medallist, were guest speakers.
Highstream Solutions, which offers strategic IT management, AI guidance and cyber security in partnership with businesses in the local area and also further afield, is pleased to have extended its sponsorship of the event for two more years.
Managing director Paul Williams said: “It was a such a great event last October and we really enjoyed being a sponsor. As a business, we want to be involved for the long term as the tournament has such an exciting future.
“Most of our team are from the Wrexham area. There’s a real sporting buzz around Wrexham because of the success of the football club, and that also really came through with the tennis tournament.”
Highstream Solutions worked closely with Wrexham Tennis & Padel Centre, a client for a number of years, to improve the venue’s wifi infrastructure and internet connection ahead of hosting the Lexus Wrexham Open for the first time.
Dave Courteen, the tournament promoter, added it would not be possible to stage such a high-profile event in Wrexham – the biggest women’s tennis tournament, outside of the grass court season, in the UK – without the backing of local businesses.
He said: “It’s fantastic how the region’s business community have supported the tournament since it moved to Wrexham. The response has been excellent and is absolutely essential to its continued growth.
“It’s great news that Highstream Solutions are pleased to extend their sponsorship of the Lexus Wrexham Open’s networking lunch for two more years.
“Their support, alongside Aaron & Partners Solicitors, who have also renewed their sponsorship of this year’s lunch, helped make it a really enjoyable event for everyone who came along.
“We are grateful to all of our sponsors as we look forward to making October’s Lexus Wrexham Open even bigger and better.”
