BANGKOK, Thailand – His Majesty the King has expressed deep concern for the people affected by severe flooding in southern Thailand and for the medical personnel and officials working tirelessly in the affected areas.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who also serves as Minister of Interior, shared the royal message from the Bureau of the Royal Household on his personal Facebook page. The message conveys His Majesty’s concern and directives regarding the flood situation.
Key points of the royal message include:
Compassion for the People: His Majesty expressed concern for residents affected by the floods in the southern provinces and offered condolences to families of the deceased. All victims of the floods in southern Thailand will be received under royal care.
Support for Medical Personnel: His Majesty granted encouragement and recognition to medical staff at Hat Yai Hospital and Songklanagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University, as well as all officials and volunteers who have devoted themselves to assisting flood-affected communities.
Financial Assistance: His Majesty graciously donated 100 million baht to Hat Yai Hospital, Songkhla Province, to restore facilities and purchase medical equipment damaged or impacted by the flooding. Hat Yai Hospital Director Dr. Viroj Yommuang received the royal donation in a formal audience.
Drones for Disaster Relief: His Majesty also provided unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for search operations and for transporting food and supplies to support flood relief efforts. These have been allocated to the Royal Thai Armed Forces – Army, Navy, Air Force – and the Royal Thai Police for use in southern flood-affected areas and disaster mitigation operations.
