Not on the High Street and Holly and Co co-founder Holly Tucker, MBE, is to front Leeds and Manchester-based factual specialist True North’s first ad-funded programme, a multi-part ITV reality series in association with Royal Mail.
Daytime business/reality show Be Your Own Boss (working title) is fronted by the “Queen of Small Business” and UK Ambassador for Creative Small Businesses Tucker, who will offer creative business owners advice on how to grow their company and use all her experience to help people realise their dreams of doing what they love
Each episode will see Tucker receive packages of products from companies that need her help. She’ll make an initial assessment on the challenges the business is facing and how she can assist them, based purely on the package alone. She will then visit the founders at their workplaces, whether it’s their back bedroom, kitchen table or factory, to offer them her pearls of wisdom.

Be Your Own Boss was commissioned by Katie Rawcliffe, director of entertainment and daytime commissioning, and Leanne Clarke, daytime and entertainment assistant commissioner. Christian Hills serves as exec producer with Timothy Penny as series producer.
Clarke described Tucker as the “silent partner everyone needs” to help their business, while Katy Thorogood, chief creative officer of True North, promised the show and Tucker will bring “big-hearted, laser-sharp advice to a cast of charismatic small business owners who have risked it all to follow their dream.”
Tucker added: “Be Your Own Boss is here to prove that running a small business isn’t just a career choice – it’s a way of life. And with the right advice, community and a little courage, anyone can turn a passion into a purpose.
“I truly believe this series will inspire those who’ve been craving a change, those who’ve doubted themselves, or simply didn’t know where to begin, to finally take that leap.”
